World Diabetes Day observed at Police Hospital Srinagar

Srinagar, November 14: Police Hospital Srinagar observed World Diabetes Day with a theme of “Women and Diabetes –our right to a healthy Future “ on 14th November, 2017.

World Diabetes Day serves as a platform to aware people about the importance of taking actions to combat diabetes as a glaring global health problem. Each year, the day focuses on a particular theme pertaining to diabetes. This year, the day concentrated on the effects of diabetes on women.

The event at Police Hospital Srinagar was attended by a large number of patients, police personnel besides staff of the hospital. Screening tests like Blood Glucose , HbAIC, TSH, KFT, were carried out throughout the day.

The Function was presided over by Incharge Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital, Srinagar Dr Irshad Kuchay. Dr Feroz Ahmad, Consultant Physician delivered a speech on awareness of DM in Women. Dr. Abrar spoke about the screening of Diabetes and Dr Sheikh Farooq explained about Diabetic retinopathy. The event concluded with the question-answer session.
